ROSEMOUNT MAN ADMITS GROWING CANNABIS
09:00 - 20 June 2003
A Man yesterday admitted growing 25 cannabis plants in his Aberdeen flat. The plants were discovered when police, who were investigating the disappearance of a woman, searched her boyfriend's home.
Sean Wilson told police they would find "a heap of drugs" if they searched the property at Rosemount Square.
"He was quite candid. Not surprisingly officers entered the property," said fiscal depute Iain Hingston.
"They checked the back bedroom and found it was exceedingly warm and well lit. "There was a large amount of growing plants which officers believed to be cannabis".
Police also found various cultivating materials.
There were 25 plants in total, all about 30cm tall.
Wilson told police he expected to get 1oz of the drug from each plant which was for his own use.
Wilson, 31, of 3h Rosemount Square, admitted growing cannabis plants at his home on January 1.
Sheriff Bowman said the fact he had 25 plants was a serious matter and she needed background reports before passing sentence. The case was adjourned until July 17.
