on my new job. well, not so new now... I'd started on 10th of January and it's been a month already. It's an ordinary post-doctoral position. Newcastle Uni calls the post "Reseach Associate" and the title sucks: brings to mind "loose association" and suchlike.

I like Newcastle and I though has a population of at least 1 million but surprise! surprise! only 250.000. never mind, there is 2 Universities, Nothern Cancer Reserch institute, Life Center etc so I hope the chances of Vadim getting a job in Ncl are much higher than they would have been in Aberdeen.

а с размером я сильно промахнулась, думала. раз метро, то минимум миллион. и в Лидсе я тоже не была. что лИдс, что Бристоль...

По-моему, в Tyne&Wear миллиона два с хвостом будет, а это фактически один город уже, во всяком случае, транспортная система там единая.

I was quite intrigued with the entries and your journal because I have always had an urge to learn Russian! Visually it fascinates me. I also want to learn Icelandic. I also have to live to be 149 years old to accomplish all my strange goals. I am curious to know what landed you on my journal??

thank you on your thank you and adding me to your friends list. I rarely post in English, usually after I'd written a letter to my friend in London so I hope you wouldn't mind having useless Russian posts on your Friend's page.

I am a molecular biologist and work with baking yeast (user picture right now is yeast colonies on a Petry dish).
