It is not uncommon for autistics themselves to compare themselves or be compared with animals. Dawn Prince-Hughes, PhD., insists she shares gorillas' soul; Donna Williams has always preferred cats to people, so has Liane Holliday-Willey. It's even more common amongst the non-verbal folk.
